How is two free months worth $135 if this deal is for $40/month?

Also, it's showing 200/200 for me for that price.

I think it's a $135 rebate by PayPal.

How much will the monthly cost after 1 year contract ends? Assuming I just want only the basic internet plan.

BTW, like the other poster said, I also see 200/200 Mbps. Where do you see 100/100?

OK, well it's confusingly worded. It says "get two months free with a Slickdeals Rebate via PayPal". Is the free two months on top of the $135 rebate? Is the $135 rebate supposed to cover the two months?

Also, whenever I click on the link, it initially shows 100/100 but then immediately changes to 200/200 without my doing anything else. Tried in incognito mode, same thing. Not that I have any objection to double the bandwidth, but I'm wondering if the rebate will still be valid.

I don't know for sure, figure it will probably be about $60/mo plus fees. But they always have new deals, just sign up with a different name next year. If you've already got an ONT at your location, you should be able to self-install.

OK, I just signed up, let's see how it goes. A couple of points to be aware of:
  • They do a credit check, so you can't make up a fake name
  • Requires auto pay through bank account or debit card only, no credit cards for this deal
My start date is next Monday, now I have to cancel my old account.

Can you ask for Ethernet vs. Coax? Would like to avoid router rental charge.

When I had my last install done, they told me that they're moving away from MOCA router connections, and automatically do Ethernet for any connection 100+ Mbps.

Of course, you can pick up a Verizon gateway router for <=$50 (I like these routers because they're very reliable and almost never need to be reset) on eBay, but if you have one you're happy with, no reason to change.

This is a common tactic with cable/internet companies. The fact of the matter is that they're probably losing money with the teaser rates they initially offer. The idea is to convince you that the service is worth having so they'll get you to pay regular price after the promo rate runs out.

Of course, this being SD, our tactic is to continue paying those teaser rates after they expire... Smilie

I'm seeing the 200/200 as well. Any idea if this is an accident or actually what's on offer?
