Don't forget to use either Citi points ($15 off of $60) or AMEX points (20% off). I used Citi offer earlier, hence used AMEX promo to get 20% off and got Premier for $43.90.

Looks like for the Download option, I have to choose PC or Mac?

If I am going to share turbotax with family, but I am using Mac while they are using PC, the only option is to get the Disc version?
Even with the disk version you still have to choose pc vs Mac

Wow, 175 comments, and only 1 person asked if state e-file was included. I think after so many years, people finally get how it works.

I just checked the Fidelity Turbotax link, and it's showing Premier for $55, plus $40 for state e-file. $95 for early bird?!

Come on now, that's such greed. 2 years ago I paid $76, and I think last year I paid like 80.

Hopefully like what Robin Hood did to Fidelity/Schwab/Ameritrade, the zero trading fees causes all the competitors to go to zero as well.

We just need Credit Karma free to go mainstream.
State e-file has not been free. When you efile state in TurboTax it asks for payment. It has been $39.99. So no need to pay up front

That's what I implied. State e-file has only been free once in the past 5-10 years, and it'll probably never happen again.

I use Premier because of stock trades and schedule D. I don't think Deluxe has handled that for years.
The cd does

True. I just learned this today! CD/Download Deluxe can handle stocks sales. turbotax.com is so misleading...it suggests you need Premier if you sold stocks. No wonder my amazon history shows I used to buy Deluxe until 2017, then I started buying Premier.

Yes if you know what you are doing deluxe is fine at handling stock sales. Premier makes it a bit easier especially if you need to deal with espp, rsu, etc

Cool. I have no more espp and rsu; just buy/sell stocks on Robinhood

Anyone interested in swapping a Mac Deluxe (no state) license for a PC one? I had to replace my MacBook with a PC for school.

I am not sure how deep it goes. Does it do real estate stuff.? If you look at the questions on the AMazon page, TT support always says they "suggest" premier for stocks as it has more q&a but they never say you need premier for stocks

This is a standalone desktop application. I accidentally bought it last year and much prefer the website interface. Don't have to worry about copying files between systems.
You can't load your account info with the desktop app?

I'm not completely sure. I just remember it wanting to find a turbo tax file on your system to pull past return data from.

I have an LLC of which I did not make money, but sunk ~$500 of expenses into. Will premier allow me to file and report the loss, or do i need home and business?

Anybody have experience on using this for just a regular W2 job and real estate income where a property management handles most of the work and just sends you the accounting at the end of the year? I currently use a tax professional, but his prices are getting hard to justify. Even more so when you consider I do most of the work of putting the info together and all he does, while important, is just keys it into the system and double-checks everything to ensure I don't screw up and get audited. I'm basically paying him to double-check my work.
I've been filing this way since 2012 but I always use the home and business version. I think they are similar only this one has more business related and investment options I think. Maybe someone can clarify?
