I think I'd spend a little bit more for a pair of Burris, Vortex, or Athlon all of which have lifetime no-questions warranties.

I use these at the beach when I'm checking out white tails...
black tails, brown tails and yellow tails too!

DX is a cheapened version of Engage. And it is not qualified for the rebate as well.

I've had good luck with Bushnell rebates in the past... That said, the 10x42 DX and 10x42 X are both cheaper at Amazon than the 8x42's at Adorama.

I prefer 10x42s instead of 8x42s as well. For everything from general use to East coast white tails to Colorado elk.

I've been wondering about the best zoom level too. Wirecutter.com limited their recommendations to 8x42 (8x25 for their compact pick) because they said it was the sweet spot between zoom and shakiness. I have cheaper pairs of 8x42 as well as 10x50, and the 10x is my goto, although that may be because the 8x is a cheap pair from Walmart.

Anyone else having trouble adding to cart? Getting a "item exceeded wearhouse quantity limit" pop up message, even though they're showing to be in stock.

I would prefer pay a little extra to make sure the when zoomed in, image clarity doesn't get worse. Nikon, Vortex, Leupold have been my first choice for long time. On Bushnell, you will get that slight fuzz and distortion when you zoomed in to longer distances.
