Editor's Notes & Price Research

Written by

The TM-280 Studio Microphone with Flight Case, Shockmount, and Pop Filter from Tascam is a condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern, a 34mm pure-gold-sputtered diaphragm, and is powered by 48V phantom power. It can be utilized to capture every nuance of your acoustic audio sessions in the studio, and it's robust enough to handle the most powerful rock-and-roll performance. - persian_mafia

So true. However, your comment did spur me to spend the next 2 hours researching large diaphragm condenser mics before realizing that I have no need for one.

Slickdeals is a disease 😅

I got one and then came here to see what the SD community has to say about it.
It seems not many have come to know about its existence as I'm pretty sure this is/ was a very very hot deal for those who know what is in the box when paying so little for it. Pretty sure deal won't last long.

For podcasting pick up a dynamic microphone like a Samson Q2U or ATR-2100 USB. This is a studio recording mic and will "pick up a mouse farting in the room next door." Horrible for twitch streams or other audio because it's so sensitive.

Note that it's a condenser, so you'll need an audio interface or some other phantom power supply

It clearly says it comes with a shock mount lol but you will need a stand which can be found as low as $10

This looks like a great mic at this price. It's normal price is a very competitive range. I'm guessing they are dropping the price because it's not selling great in a crowded market. This would be a great mic to start home recording. Would work well for guitar and vocals.
