I should have bought this instead of a $250 moment lens kit

Wait for Olympus next refurbished sale. This with the kit lens is usually under 300.00. Still use my EPL-3 for walkabouts in NYC and vacations. I find even my A7ii too big. This with kit lens fits nicely in your jacket pocket.

i believe you're thinking of the e-pl8:

the newer camera has better video features, built in flash, and in camera pano stitching

I actually have an E-PM2 and it still takes amazing photos. Unfortunately, on surface there actually seem to be only a few upgrades (yes some significant). But the 16mp resolution has not changed since 2013? Wow! Built in flash and a flip screen are the biggest upgrades. Is it worth 300 plus tax? Can I even get $100 for my old camera? I've been eyeing this one for a while but I just dont know if I can justify it.

They are the same generation sensor but in terms of technologies PL9 is far more advantage. It got much better autofocus, 4k video recording (vs 1080p), bluetooth/wifi, better processor, better control, ... etc.
You can actually buy PM-2 used at $170, but I would rather spend $130 more for a barely used, open-boxed latest generation model.

Just bought this as an upgrade for my wifes E-PL3. The bluetooth/wifi connection is the suck. Terrible, unreliable, and slow. Otherwise, it's a fine camera.
