Great deal, lowest I have seen it. Front page worthy.

Triggering a off camera flash. FYI Sony and others are the same price...

Does this work with other branded TTL flash's?

I own this one: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/produ...UTF8&psc=1

And would like the ability to use a wireless transmitter. I don't know if I should invest in 1 brand/system, or of they're interchangeable?

It doesn't. Only the flashpoint and godox R2 ecosystem

Other than the bigger screen and more buttons, does the R2 Pro offer anything this one doesn't for $40 more?
I already have this one and was thinking of getting another transmitter as a backup.

Yes this is the older version that has a different layout as well as it lacks Bluetooth controls of the newer version.

(even the one that is only $30 more).

The new version gives instant access to changing different groups and the wheel feels better.

I would expect a fire sale on these at some point, the new versions are just better thought out all around and easier to use. This first generation is barely passable in the UI department.

I'm guessing this trigger is being phased out. The interface is a bit clunky and annoying so a lot of the complaints about it were fixed in the Mk ii version (that isn't on sale). It still works well, though, but if price isn't the biggest factor, go for the Mk ii or the Pro.
