I've been using this trimmer for a good 5 years or more at this point.

Still trim my beard with it on a weekly basis. Pretty close at the number 4 setting with the attachment.

Never replaced the blade. Never had any issues. Occasionally lubricate with the included oil and that little bottle still has more than half its contents after all these years.
I second that, going on 4 years and weekly at number 7.5 setting.
Only lubricated it a handful of times

I have this one, somehow the guard got broken. Still works but I have to hold the guard in place...
I have the same problem with mine. The guard is cheap plastic and only held on by little tabs. It breaks very easily.

I own this. Got from a slickdeals post a couple years ago. It feels like it's not that powerful at first use. It cuts very well. I don't lubricate it often, but coconut oil works well for that. Zero complaints.

You won't be disappointed with this. I've tried others and I keep going back to this one. This is my old faithful. Finally had to buy another after 6 years as the battery was depleted. This is a killer price too. Screw the reviews.

Bought this 6 years ago, still works great. No issues with battery, cutting, etc. I just make sure I oil it from time to time and brush out any hair that gets stuck. Little maintenance goes a long way

Had mine 4+ years, no issues at all. Some care with the guard on/off I would recommend and I oil it once in 30 uses maybe? Wish it came with a longer guard, have to freehand the winter beard trims as 10mm is too short. Solid unit for my use.

I use this one that is made in Japan and never let me down:

Panasonic Bikini Shaper and Trimmer for Women ES246AC, Compact, Portable Design with Adjustable Trim Settings, Battery Operated https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005J...fEbRKACGBF

Yah I know what it says but it works so darn well. I also have a Wahl peanut for when I need the power (taking off my beard for example.)
I swear by the wahl peanut for beard trimming Smilie

reviews are killing it
Not to diminish the bad reviews, but I always sort by MOST RECENT because there may have been a revision or something that solved issues. In this case, sorting by most recent pushes a LOT of good reviews right to the top. Meaning that many people have good things to say recently.

usually when a product is revised (in this case it will have to be a significant rev) a new sku number is issued.

new "good" reviews could be purchased, deliberate action to dilute bad reviews and to send them down out of the view. bad consistent reviews with photos and videos on the other hand = truth.

I am using this one for 3+ years now. Still working as expected. Also didn't have problem with guard like some users. Will definitely recommend for this price.

How close can that cut? I've been testing various trimmers to get a close trim rather than shave. Most guards are not short enough so I use just the trimmer. Some trimmers seem to nick more if I'm not careful.

Have had this trimmer for a few years. Never lubricated, still works perfect. I use it in the shower to trim beard and body hair. The guard tabs broke in first drop but it still works just have to hold it. Don't know about recent reviews but I would definitely recommend this especially for body hair.
