Grab a rx 580 8gb off of ebay. Avoid the crusty ones gamer's are selling and focus on the ones that miners are selling. You may have to flash the original bios back onto the card. This is simple.
Lol, did you just suggest to buy a video card used for mining running 24/7 overclocked for months? Are you a miner?

I see that most comments refer to this card working with an AMD processor. Will it work as well with an Intel 8th generation i5 processor? Also on many sites the reviews indicate the card dieing after a month. Is there any validity to that as generally ASUS is a good manufacturer... Thanks!
It will work fine with your processor. Just make sure your motherboard has the right slot for a video card (almost all do) and that your power supply has a power connector for a video card.

I've had poor luck with Asus laptops and monitors, never owned a vid card from them.

Not the person you're responding to but miners usually way undervolt and underclock to keep heat and power usage down. Never hear of them overclocking cards. Not a miner, just what I've read. Glad mining is dying. Wish card prices would come back to reality.

The greed mfg put into pricing video cards is still active... Even used cards don't apparently go down in price (more than $30 off retail)..

This card is faster than my GTX 970's that play all my games at 2560x1440 without any issues whatsoever. $120 plus a free game... I don't remember seeing a better video card deal in ages.

This is all the card you need to run 1920x1080

As someone not in the know in the slighest, how can you tell the difference between a miner selling a card vs a gamer?

Yup. People keep buying though. Got a 570 4g reference in a prebuilt pc I bought 2 years ago. Sticking it out at least until new consoles have been out a year then going to upgrade.

Heads up. a rx580 (8gb) used on ebay can be had for around $100.
Recommended one expect to reflash the firmware and maybe repaste the heatskink if its a former miner card.
