Pretty good price. I think many of the tvs dropped in price in anticipation of super bowl.

This is also 1999 at best buy.

I missed out on the christmas deal so glad they have it again.

Fyi I know greentoe is not a deal, but I was able to get the tv for 1900 from a reputable distributor without tax or shipping.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

Ugh, big time dilemma now.

Just got back from Costco and saw the 75" Vizio quantum P1 X series. Wow, it was just amazing. Black levels and color. $1999 so same price as this deal. It's from Costco so it has like a gazillion years of warranty.

I saw the YouTube reviews esp. the digital trends one comparing the Vizio with the Sony 950g and man, even during that review I liked the Vizio better (although the Sony was no slouch for such little dimming zones - I know, I know that specs aren't everything but still you gotta believe your eyes when they see that specific making an actual difference).

Should I just cancel the Sony and go with the Vizio? Or get both and test them out and return the other
Vizios upscaling is horrible your cable 720/1080i signal will look horrible. I returned mine and got a 950 instead night and day difference. Vizios UI is bad also, let alone panel issues. you won't regret it. Even the x900f dell Gift card deal is better than the Vizio

Thanks. Reading more on the Vizio (incl. the owners thread on av$forum), it seems like everything other than the contrast levels is a toss up; poor build quality, poor QA, banding issues, tinny sound, laggy OS, cheap remote. I could drive it with a Roku externally and attach a sound bar, but it seems like they just ignored everything other than the PQ itself. Even PQ seems to suffer from FALD-at-work symptoms. The only thing got going for it (other than those inky contrast levels) is the Costco warranty. Hmmm.
Go with Sony I returned my Vizio, upscaling is horrible. Your 720/1080i signals will look hideous, UI is bearable but it lags, Angle view is pretty crappy too, The Sony X WIDE feature alone wins. I'm happy with the x950
The Sony is a beast, my only complain is a bit too much reflection. Many people get sold on those 4k demos at costco. I wish Costco had the X950g they have the best warranty and return policy

Ummm, I canceled my order.

And picked up the LG C9 65 incher from Costco. For two reasons:
1) once the furniture went in and we got a good idea of viewing distance, it became clear 75 inch would be too big. I know, I know, there is no such thing as 'too big' etc but it would be too big.
2) I am OCD so I dont want to keep looking for blooming, etc. because, trust me, I will find it Wink So... Yeah.

Amazon canceled the order pretty smoothly so that's great. Picked up the 65 C9 from Costco and set it up. My God is this thing a picture quality monster. I mean... C'mon. It is currently breathing life into my movie collection - there's so many movies I want to rewatch now.

(And for the large screen experience, I do have a 130" projector room / bat cave)

I went that route too, but now I'm worried with all the burn in stories I'm reading.

I am not planning to game on this TV - primarily for nighttime TV in the bedroom. May airplay from my MBP but very occasionally. Yeah, burnin is a risk but with some caution I think it can be offset well into the future.

Pro tip! Use your Costco Citi Visa card for a TV purchase at any retailer (doesn't have to be Costco) and you get an extra 2 year extended warranty for free through Citi.

Hahaha.. Nice excuses for justifying a 65 inch TV in 2020..... I bet you would have given the same reasons if you had bought a 32inch as well.. LOL

I'm going to try and get a deal on the 85" X950G from greentoe. Saw that someone on here got it for $2999, wonder if that might drop more in the near future.
I got a counter from Greentoe for $3099 to WA State. I'm holding off for now.

I had greentoe quote me 2999 as well last week. Tax inclusive. So prices appear to being going upwards since then...?
