Pretty good price. I think many of the tvs dropped in price in anticipation of super bowl.

This is also 1999 at best buy.

I missed out on the christmas deal so glad they have it again.

Fyi I know greentoe is not a deal, but I was able to get the tv for 1900 from a reputable distributor without tax or shipping.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

This is exactly right. I saw them both at BB and can tell the difference. Of course it doesn't help (Sony) that I currently have a 65x900E which beats both the x900F and x950G in contrast levels, which is a shame considering that is a TV from 2017!

If u value contrast (and hence picture quality) then I would stick with the 900F among these 2 choices. Or pick the 65" x950G as it does not have the X-Wide later (like the 75 and 85" do) which reduces contrast severely in exchange for wide viewing angles.
Thanks...
Just ordered the 900F for $1698. Hate that damn $130 tax!!!!

Come on 85" for $2500 would be great.

Yeah, I'm interested to see what happens when I finally connect my 2070 Super to the 950G. I wonder if the difference between 60fps and 100+fps on a 27" display is as observable on a 75" tv.

Running at 1080P? Sure. At 4K? Good luck... you'll definitely have to turn down lots of graphical settings to attain 60 fps at 4K... (maybe overwatch and older games will be ok).

I think you're going to need to be in the 6.5' and 9.5' range to notice the difference. The closer, the better.

I'm wondering why the price of Sony's 75" X900F still stays so high (only was lowered by $200'ish during the past holiday season, but not to forget it's actually 2018 model), but this 75" X950G 2019 model has already been on sale a few more times than that X900F model? Does the X950G actually have no appreciable improvements over X900F?
950 is a very good tv, but its actual picture quality is slightly less than the 900f.

Ah, another 900E owner, yeah, you guys seem to have the same opinion about both motion and contrast between the 900E and the 900F and 950G.

I'm not sure that the contrast is affected "severely", but we all have different eyes.

Yeah, I was down with the 900F at $1699 last week, but then saw the 950G at Greentoe was going for $1899 and ended up with $1949, so was happy. The extra $50, per Greentoe, was because I live on the west coast.
I live on the west coast too, Northern California. If my ego could go with a 75" then I would totally jump on this deal. My wife ended up telling me to pull the trigger for the 85" for 3k when we went to bestbuy and looked at TV's. I told her how much we could save and she thought I was a genius. Not when you all do all the work and make me look good. Thanks all!

Exactly what I expected, which is why I'm surprised to see ordinary people talking about gaming specs on 4k TVs.

Or just wait until after the superbowl and go into Sam's Club for all of the returns with a few days of runtime on them. Same thing for air conditioners...they have plenty when September rolls around.

I wouldn't call a 2070 Super ($500+ card) for ordinary people.. or even PC gamers for that matter. Wink But yeah, we are likely another 4 or 5 years away from 4k gaming at 120.

All this talk of the 75" 950g being worse than the 900f or 900e is nonsense. I have all three (75x950g, 75x900f, and 55x900e) and I can tell you without out a doubt that the 950g is the best.

Sites like rtings will lead you to believe that the 75" version has worse contrast ratio due to the Wide Angle Filter, maybe it does on the spec sheet but I can assure you can not tell the difference (rtings didn't even review the 75" so I have no ideas why they even say that).

The 950g is brighter, sharper, faster, and has MUCH better HDR and Dolby vision than the 900f. The X Wide angle feature IMO is the best part of the whole thing. No matter where you sit in the room, you get that same amazing experience.

All of these people on this thread claiming the 950g is worse than the 900f are completely wrong and most likely don't own both (or either) and are parroting sites like rtings who have never reviewed the 75" model. Rting's is great for spec sheet info and objective tests but their "reviews" and scoring system is complete nonsense.

IMO, at 75" the absolute best choice is the 950g. I actually prefer my 55x900e over my 75x900f. The 900f in 75" just doesn't perform as well as I had hoped.

The contrast difference between all 3 is really negligible, I own all three and can't tell the difference in contrast in real world usage. You absolutely can tell the difference in viewing angles on the 950g, it's so much better. It's also much faster and brighter than the other 2.

I picked up the 75" 950G from Greentoe during the sale on 1/3 for $1899 (all-in) and it was delivered this past Friday 1/10.

I think the TV is fantastic. It's in a pretty well lit-room during the day, dark at night. Contrast is totally fine. I watched The Martian with large horizontal black bars top/bottom and didn't notice any blooming. If you stood up, got very close to the TV, and looked at an off-angle, the blooming was apparent, but during normal viewing it was non-existent.

I would not go for the older/deprecated TV unless you're super anal about perfect performance. For 95% of users, this TV is amazing. The Android interface is response and FAST. I was a bit apprehensive after ordering and reading all the comments from people about how the 950G was hindered compared to the 900E/F, but after setting things up and just watching it like a normal person I have absolutely zero regrets.

I think people get wrapped up in too many internet comments and get worked up over non-existent real-world issues.
