This is one of my favorite Audible deals, and doesn't seem to come up that often.

https://www.audible.com/ep/lto?so...0108209RKP

Offer available from January 13, 2020 at 12:00AM PT to January 31, 2020 at 11:59AM PT. This offer is not available to existing Audible members or customers who have been paid Audible members in the past 30 days. Offer applies only to an Audible annual membership sold by Audible.com. For the first year of your Audible membership, you will be charged the discounted price of $99.50

To be clear, you get 12 credits all at once, and they persist at least for a year (I think you can bank more than 12 but can't remember with this deal).

Note to existing subscribers, hotdogwater indicated that he was able to cancel and then resubscribe with this offer.
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

But She will send email confirm me that when my gift membership expire I can contact customer service to get 1 year membership for $99.50. I already got confirmation email and will contact them in March.
That's cool, the second best result I'd heard of. (The best one was when someone talked them into giving them a free credit for every month they had left, how on earth... Smilie )

I was on the last month of a 3 months promotional membership. I canceled my membership and immediately clicked the link here to renew at $99.5 for a year and it worked.

I was just flatly turned down on this deal. I am a current Gold member with zero credits.
I asked about the cancel and rejoin and the rep said no-can-do. I may try again before the 31st, but no joy today.

It did not give me any hint of only charging me $99. It was a complete leap of faith. LOL

THANK YOU! I copies you and also got the $99 even though it said it was going to charge 150$

I've been googling this and can't figure it out. Where do I go to renew my account early? Canceling is not an option because I have too many credits to lose.

Do they still send out the members-only 'daily deals' selling at ~$1.99 or so?

Chatted with support & got the price match to swap me over to $99.50 deal. I just finished using the 3rd credit from my discount 3 month membership & was still active.

I tried online chat but was shot down, only offered $119/yr (which was available already in my account). Two things are stopping me from doing the cancel/renew method...

1 - I have already qualified for the $20 promotion but one of the terms says "If you cancel your membership before March 17, 2020, you will not be eligible for the reward"
2 - Terms of the $99/first year offer states "This offer is not available to existing Audible members or customers who have been paid Audible members in the past 30 days"

I'm willing to chance losing the $20 credit but not at the expense of missing out on the discounted year offer.... did they change the terms or are the same as when you did the cancel/renew?

You may have to spend all your credits to see the renewal option. I did use all my credits before I renewed.

Is there a way I can buy this as a gift and have the membership not start until the recipient activates it or something?

If you don't have the Libby app connected to your local library (and your friends and family's local libraries), do so. Trust me. There are waitlists for some books but otherwise it's a free audible with no monthly limits.

They've been mostly $3.95-5.95 but yes, you have to sign up for the emails.
