every one of my co-workers that owns a dell regrets it. nothing but problems. never again for me.
Does your company buy nothing but inspiron laptops?

Company I work for uses all dell laptops.. Latitude & XPS have been very reliable for us.

Did they own an XPS? XPS is among the best of the best
Wouldn't call it the best of the best. It's more like the great of the best. Latitudes and Precisions are built better if we're strictly staying in the Dell world. Stay far away from every other PoS Dell plastic toy laptop.

Pretty sure the WiFi is integrated (soldered) in the 9380.

This is a good deal, but I'm hesitant to jump on it due to complaints about the wireless particularly under Linux.
That's odd since they offer the same variants in the "developers" edition for linux. Bummer though everything is solid other than the qualcomm wifi. My wifi improved alot with just going to the Intel AX200 with wifi-5.

Sorry bro, looks like I was wrong on this particular model year, wifi is not upgradable as many others have stated. I have an older 9360 in which the card was easily swapped out for better stuff.

No, there is just better. The Intel AX200 which is dirt cheap ($20-$30) brings you up to wifi-6, and is just more consistent, even compared to older Intel cards. I replaced my older XPS13 and my desktop motherboard Wifi (older intel) with AX200 and just a more consistent experience large file transfers (20GB+)

There is always better =)

Unless you absolutely need 4k, I'd stick with the FHD version if you have any interest in battery life. I am regretting my purchase of a 4k xps 7390 with a i7-10710U. 3 hours of runtime under medium load with screen turned all the way down. Paid $1400, will trade for a comparable QHD or FHD Thinkpad!

I have to agree. Spent about the same amount. Great machine. Amazing graphics. Runs awesome. Battery sucks.

I got the "cheap" XPS 13 last month with Amex promo...was around $630 all-in with all the rebates etc.

It's a great machine...I have a lenovo 4k 15 inch screen, and I think the XPS might be better...I got the matt, non touch version. Can't imagine why you would want to spend the extra for a 4K on this machine. Keyboard and touchpad are world class.

I had an Alienware that crapped out/was overheating and Dell customer service was an absolute joke. I figured if they treat high end laptop purchasers that way, imagine what they do to others. Never again will I buy a Dell, unless it was from Costco

I do agree with the battery statement here as 4K does have a large impact on overall battery life. However, your run time is extremely short, that almost sounds like you got a faulty unit. Even the XPS 9380 has longer run time than 3 hours with a 4K screen running on an i7-8565U. The only time I've seen battery drain that badly was due to defender going rouge and scanning while trying to compile code.
