Lowe's - Dremel 4000 53-Piece Variable Speed Corded 1.6-Amp Multipurpose Rotary Tool with Hard Case - YMMV $79

This is a set that they had as part of their seasonal items. It is now marked down from $149 to $79 in many stores.
Some stores are out of stock already, so YMMV.
I was able to order online for a store and have it delivered via free delivery. "Truck Delivery" is expensive as always, so you will have to either pick up in store or find a store with remaining stock and the "Ship to Home" Option.

These stores appear to still have inventory and offer ship to home:
E. Plano Lowe's, TX
5001 Central Expy, Plano, TX 75023

Allen Lowe's
1010 West Mcdermott Dr
Allen, TX

The price isn't YMMV (except for 11 stores where it is $99), but inventory is. Luckily it's available for shipping.

Yeah, I don't think this is very slick. The model up (4300) was about this price just recently.

I have one of these and I paid $80 for it. That's more than what it's worth. It would be a hot deal < $40.

Can you please elaborate? What have you used it for? This is a very useful tool for many things and well worth $80+.

The only thing I have used it for recently is grinding the dog's nails. I have never found any use for the drive extension.

I guess if you know what you want this for then it's great... perhaps engraving or similar. But as a general tool for your tool collection there are better ways to spend $80. And I'll repeat, this should never ever be $149 - that's just ridiculous. There are well rated Chinese knock-offs [amazon.com] on Amazon for under $20 that are posted on SD quite often that would easily fill most people's needs.

The corded Dremel I have is indispensable when I need something precision cut or sanded.

I also have the flex shaft attachment, but I've only used it once in 10+ years - to cut off a hydraulic line on a car where I couldn't get the body part of the dremel into the area I needed to cut.

Yes ... sort of. Not my LOCAL store, but one 40 miles away. Not worth the schlep, and Lowes' "Ship to Home" wasn't available (would've been worth ~$+5 to me).
Now, there are none left in S. NH.

Try zip 33020 (Miami area) ... as "proof of concept".
