Vietnamese-American here. I am holding off my vacation to Saigon this spring because of the ongoing health concern in China/Vietnam. I don't trust the goverment in Vietnam and the ability of the healthcare system over there, so it is better off to wait a bit longer.

We are Vietnamese American as well. We haven't been to Asia region for the last 3 years. We booked the flight to Vietnam a few months back to travel in March. We just cancelled them.
We even cancelled our trip to Quebec in 2 weeks. Don't want to see any discrimination because we look Asian and think we came from China.

I am Vietnamese-American too. Have not go back there 10 years. Planned to go this fall but seems not until next year.

So it isn't cool to wear a "Beautiful Wuhan" t-shirt while you have a cold? Asking for a friend.

Ask your friend to try it and let me know the result. Maybe add a "Made in China" to the t-shirt and carried a luggage with some china airline tag too.

Good tips!

Seriously, if you are afraid to go somewhere because of fear of discrimination then you are part of the problem. Why not be be part of the solution?

The news is over exaggerating. I had friends came back from Vietnam and things are not as bad as people may think. No one I knew got sick as long as you avoid Chinese tourist places. I'm traveling in May as well, but no way I'm gonna cancel it.
