If it had 10th gen i5, it would be a steal

The 2020 XPS 13 i5 comes with Intel UHD graphics and not the IRIS graphics so not a huge graphics boost if comparing the i5 used in the XPS 13. CPU performance is maybe 10% better on 10th gen vs 8th gen i5.

Any comments on the i7 variant of this? What's the CPU performance difference between 8th and 10th gens? Asking because I got the i7 xps 9380 that was on sale for $1k 3-4 days ago.

Tough to get excited about this, even with the 4k screen. Last gen processor and integrated graphics. It's just ok.

my dell xps 13 9350 battery started swelling and losing 75% of its capacity literally a month after its warranty ended. Dell refuses to acknowledge the problem even though they recalled the XPS 15 for the same issue...

Not directly related to the support or warranty issues you mentioned, but I replaced my 9343 battery with one from ifixit, and it's running like new. Might be worth a look.

Check and see if the card you paid with has extended warranty protection. Not sure if it covers batteries tho.

it didnt. dell also refused to provide a full quote unless I sent it in for some reason (which would have cost money just for them to evaluate it) which made it harder even if I did have credit card warranty
