Great price for budget 1080p capable card paired with a cheap MB and CPU. I would recommend going AMD CPU for price/performance in this budget range. I love Intel, but not this generation and this price range.

If thinking of upgrading, this card is 10-15% over 1060 but 75-100% over a 1050ti.

I recently built I would say 1 tier up from this with a 1660 Super and a Ryzen 7 2700x. This was back in November and only went with Ryzen 7 due to a great price at time but would recommend Ryzen 5 3600 if had the choice for gaming and aiming for more midrange than budget.

Would rather have a dual fan since it'll go in a tower. Or does that make a difference?

For a relatively low-ish power consuming card like this, should be fine unless your ambient temperatures are quite high (regions that get very hot during summer and you have no AC, for example).

Smaller cards like this have an added benefit of fitting into smaller cases too, if that's your thing.

Thanks yeah my case runs cool and I might someday yank this and put it in small case so might be good to have that option. Hate rebates but otherwise nice price.

Looks like a free market to me. Maybe there's not much competition but you don't have to buy.
