Do you really think people are spending 11.6k on this as a toy? This is what professionals use.

Unless this drone is capable of taking out an Iranian General I fail to understand why it is a Slickdeal.

OP didn't put it in the description but this is the Pro package which includes the X5S, ProRes license, Cendence controller, and Crystal Sky Ultra display which is why it's $6k+ more than just the standard Inspire 2 package.

Not all drones are toys. I can guarantee you've seen many shows and commercials where footage from this model + the ProRes license has been used for production. The guys flying these usually have at least two on site each day during filming for backup, and then there's usually another $10-20k in batteries. But then again, they're averaging between $2-$10k a day in billables, so that $11.6k is quite reasonable. In an industrial setting the Matrice 210 is the current standard, and it costs about the same at its base price but can easily double or triple in price when you start mounting thermal payloads.

I'd like to add that there's also plenty of pro work being done with the Mav 2 Pro & Phantom 4 Pro as well, and they're both under $2k. However the majority of cinematic work is being done with heavy lift systems like the Freefly Alta 8 + Red 8k cameras which cost between $100k-250k depending on options. One big advantage in shooting with an 8k sensor and big lens means you can crop down to 6k or 4k without losing detail.

This is not a recreational drone. This is a professional drone for video, real estate, geography surveillance, and events. This is not like a mavic or phantom 4 but is catered to the professional crowd. The batteries are too big to be carry on items for a plane, and it is a massive piece of equipment.
