Can one still cash the annual reward cash back cert from this card at Costco if membership has expired and you don't want to renew yet?
From Citi's website:

What happens to my credit card reward certificate if I cancel my Costco membership?

• If you no longer have a valid Costco membership, you'll be notified that
your Costco Anywhere Visa® Card will be cancelled. Any cash back rewards
accumulated, but not yet distributed in the form of a credit card reward
certificate will be forfeited.

• If you have already received a credit card reward certificate, once your
account is cancelled you can still redeem any credit card reward certificate
already issued to you. If you need a replacement certificate after your
Costco Anywhere Visa Card is closed, you will need to call 1-877-419-4002.

• One convenient way to ensure that your Costco membership stays active
is to have your annual membership fee automatically billed to your
Costco Anywhere Visa Card. Please contact Costco at 1-800-774-2678 to
enroll in the membership auto renew feature if you are not already enrolled.

You can use any Visa to shop at Costco, right? I know right now it's still AMEX.
Yes, Costco takes any Visa - exclusively. No MasterCard.

This is incorrect - you can use ANY visa, but you can't use AMEX or MasterCard at Costco.

Edit: My apologies, I replied to the wrong poster.

What? This isn't true at all. Just about all CCs have cut their benefits. Costco Visa still has one of the best benfits..although it isnt a $0 fee card...although it kinda is, the benefits are the best i think for any $0 fee card.
Did they remove the warranty extension? Bc it's still on the website

Citi removed it from some of their cards, like the Citi Double cash, but the Citi Costco card does still have it!

You can buy costco.com gift cards with mastercard (or discover) though and then use them at Costco.

So really Amex is the only card you "can't use" at Costco, just a couple of others take an extra step

If you cancel your Costco membership, what would happen to your credit card?

yeah I know that but here's the thing when you have multiple items coming in and multiple items going out and sometimes you have returns because people screw you over and they send you junk it just the truth and sometimes those returns will go past the day of a credit card balance so it means you have to carry a balance because you haven't got the refund yet so you're faced with either paying the balance off and then trying to get your credit card company to send you a check or leaving the balance on there.
Not everybody has the ability to buy everything they need on the first day of their billing cycle.
so APR does matter. Not to mention when you have those rare emergencies, it is nice to know your not getting in line for the usury buss.
It sounds like you don't REALLY understand how to use a credit card well. You ALWAYS have at LEAST 3-4 weeks to pay off any purchase. If you have so many things you plan to return that you can't cover your card balance you probably shouldn't be buying more than you can afford. Work on 6mo nest egg / emergency fund first.

I will be collecting my $800 rewards next month hoooyoo, they pay $60 - $70 per month for just using the card when you put all your monthly expenses on it AND pay off balances diligently.
Also in addition there is travel insurance too.

Warranty is definitely still active and this can be like a $100+ benefit for any major electronic purchase if you calculate the cost of extended warranty coverage.

Costco will typically offer an additional year of warranty free on top of the 1 year manufacturer so that gets you 2 years coverage.

If you buy with the Citi Costco card they tack on 2 more years of warranty coverage so you're looking at 4 years with no extra cost. When I was browsing TVs at Best Buy they wanted around $140 or so for a 3 year warranty.

No costco will not JUST pay you $60-$70 per month for using their card and paying your card on time. That's just how much rebate you collected using their card.
