I just went into branch today to look for preapproval. I am not near 5/24 but I did not get automatic approval like I did on my Sapphire Reserve. I am waiting 7 to 10 days for my "result". Benefit of applying in branch is to get the first year annual fee waived. It is waived when applying in branch but not online.
Does preapproval mean no credit pull?

No it does not. You still get the pull. I am assuming I won't get denied for the card though. I don't know what results I am waiting for... maybe my credit limit? If you have preapproval and decide to do it in branch, the application takes all but 2 minutes.

5 credit card inquiries (any issuer) in the past 24 months will get you an automatic denial.

There are also point brokers that will purchase your points. There is even a thread here on SD discussing different brokers. I sold about 700,000 points for about 1.4 cents per point.

I believe DoC said it is subject to 5/24. www.doctorofcredit.com

Depends on how you will use it. I rate my chase cards based on the points bonus minus annual fee (if any). The Sapphire Reserver is better than Ink Preferred is better than the Sapphire Preferred. Also, Sapphires are personal cards and this is a business card.

The only time I looked into selling my points through a broker the net was a ridiculously low number due to commission. Is the 1.4 cents selling price you're referring to the net?

If you aren't going to move on to another card for another bonus after meeting spend requirements on this, then you will need to compare the bonus categories between the cards. UR points are more valuable in my book than any other point, so I try to keep to the UR cards for me and the wife. That is how I accumulated 750,000 points, sold them, and racked up another 350,000 points.
